A new bike brings new ideas

Finally time for a new short travel DH rig. Thanks to Terry at College Cyclery I took home a new Giant Reign last night. After a few hours of stripping stock parts and setting up the chain guide and Magura brakes the bike is dialed. I can't wait to shred the thing this weekend.

Now thinking about my new bike and the lack of good riding this time of year... Don't get me wrong, I know there is a lot of riding that can be done right now, but the trails are BLOWN OUT. This gets me to thinking about the possiblity of a mountain bike only park in the Tahoe area. This is not my original idea, it actually belongs to a good friend. I just have more time and resouces to start pulling things together.

I am hoping come this fall/winter I can have the appropriate things in line for the green light on a bike park similar to Highlands in New Hampshire. You'll just have to see where...

Projects, projects, and more projects

So... Mondays are chalk full of work. College Cyclery is planning some BIG things. Working on cleaning up the shop is first and foremost. The place is moving along... I on the other hand am needing to learn when stuff is. I hate having to bother people when they are working to ask simple questions.

Planning to have shop movie night. Hopefully will have a date for that soon. We are planning to show Kranked Revolve. Should be a sick flick... after the Kranked movie, RAD. You heard me RAD the freaking movie. So i'll have to pass on the date once we nail that down.

Next Keith is meeting with the folks at Donner Ski Ranch tomorrow to pencil in a 2009 version of Ragin' at the Ranch. You know it... Old school Donner DH race, racing top to bottom and the party with your buddies.

Lastley, planning to get information together to get a proposal together to open a mountain bike park in 2010. I have a few opition on the park local but, not going to pass that one along yet. Keep checking in here for updates...
